2018 Balbo Estate Chardonnay

Argentina’s leading wine region takes on the world’s most-planted white grape in 2018 Balbo Estate Chardonnay. Discover a unique expression of the varietal with this rich, medium to full-bodied wine, produced by a family with 70+ years of winemaking experience.

Golden yellow with green nuances, this Chardonnay offers complexity in both aromas and flavor. On the nose, tropical fruits are intertwined with oak-aged touches of vanilla and tobacco. The palate is unctuous and persistent, with a balanced acidity smoothed out by hints of honey.

This wine is made from grapes grown within the Mendoza wine region, including Uco Valley, a sub-region known for producing quality white varietals, including Chardonnay. The grape has adapted well to Argentina’s climate and high altitude, also benefitting from soils nourished by irrigation sourced from the Andes. This combination provides conditions for excellent ripening, resulting in wines with intense, concentrated flavors.

Enjoy 2018 Balbo Estate Chardonnay with seafood, especially lobster, salmon, and scallops.
