2019 Château Tour Neuve Côtes de Bourg Bordeaux Rouge

2019 Château Tour Neuve Côtes de Bourg Bordeaux Rouge is a Gold Medal-winning Bordeaux beauty. This red blend hails from an appellation within Bordeaux with historical ties to the Romans.

Uncork this medium to full-bodied wine to reveal a beautiful ruby color with purple reflections in the glass. The nose is dominated by roasted and smoked notes, due to the wine’s oak-aging. Wines from the Right Bank of Bordeaux are known for their bold yet smooth style, due to Merlot being used as a primary grape. Dark fruit flavors, along with hints of chocolate and earth, are accompanied by balanced tannins.

Grapes were selected from a small estate in Côtes de Bourg, an appellation that is one of France’s oldest wine-producing regions. The first vineyards were founded by the Romans, and this region existed as a major port for wine in the Middle Ages. Sometimes referred to as “Bordeaux’s Little Switzerland,” Côtes de Bourg has gently sloping hills, rich soils, and a cooler, Maritime-influenced climate that make it ideal for growing grapes—especially reds.

2019 Château Tour Neuve Côtes de Bourg Bordeaux Rouge complements beef, veal, and venison, along with a variety of hard and soft cheeses.
